Our placement near the National Mall lands visitors close to many of the Smithsonian's 19 museums and galleries — nearly all of them free and open every day of the year except December 25. While the National Portrait Gallery is our across-the-street neighbor, the National Mall (just four, easy blocks away) houses the majority of other Smithsonian favorites, from the National Museum of American History, National Air and Space Museum and the National Museum of the American Indian.
