Bai Causeway is the most time-honored causeway at the West Lake. Bai Juyi, governor of Hangzhou, built causeways at the West Lake. People named this ancient causeways as Bai (or Lord Bai) Causeway in memory of him. Broken Bridge, which is located at the east end of Bai Causeway, is the place where Lady White Snake and Scholar Xu Xian met each other and went through so many hardships according to the Chinese folk tale 'the legend of Lady White Snake'.

Located northwest to the West Lake and the valley between the Feilai Peak and the North Peak, Lingyin Temple （also known as the Monastery of the Soul's Retreat） is the most aged Buddhist temple within the West Lake area. The temple had been built in the first year of the Emperor Xian He of the Eastern Jin Dynasty and was reconstructed during the Qing Dynasty, the structure of which was kept to date.

Located on Yuelun Hill and to the south of West Lake (Xi Hu), Six Harmonies Pagoda (Liuhe Pogoda) is one of the true masterpieces of ancient Chinese architecture.By climbing to the top of the pagoda, visitors will have a spectacular bird's-eye view of the Qiantang River.

Wansong Academy was once a prosperous center of scholarship in ancient Hangzhou. The academy was the largest and most influential of its kind during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and reigned among the ‘Top Four’ academies of China during the period.The name ‘Wangsong’ is most famous for two of its more mediocre students-a pair of star-crossed young ‘Butterfly Lovers’ –Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai who rose to literary fame as the Chinese equivalent of Romeo and Juliet.

China National Silk Museum, near the West Lake in Hangzhou, is one of the first state-level museums in China , covering an area of 42,286 square meters and a building area of 22,999 square meters.

China National Tea Museum (CNTM), located in Hangzhou, a beautiful city known as the “tea capital”, is the only national A-class museum in China dedicated to tea and tea culture shows. CNTM Shuangfeng (add: 88 Longjing Road) was opened in April 1991, while CNTM Longjing (add: 268 Wengjiashan) was opened in May 2015. The twin museums cover a total area of 122,000 m² and a building floor of 13,000 m².

Since ancient times, Hangzhou has been renowned as the Home of Tea, and tea culture has become a significant part of its unique culture. Therefore, the trip to Hangzhou definitely won't be complete without visiting Meijiawu Tea Village, the biggest natural village producing the world-famous West Lake Dragon Well Tea.
