Bell Tower

Xincheng district, Xi'an, Shaanxi

The Xi'an Bell Tower is located in the heart of Xi'an and were built in the early Ming Dynasty. It is the largest and most preserved one amongst the many bell towers left over from the history of China.There are stairs inside to hover up. The dark green roof tiles are covered with dark green glazed tiles, and the interior is decorated with gold paintings. The Bell Tower also contains several large bronze-cast bells from the Tang Dynasty.

Shaanxi History Museum

Xiaozhai, Xi’an, Shaanxi 710061

The Shaanxi History Museum is 6.5 hectare in size, and boasts a Tang-style architecture. The main and affiliated buildings are orderly aligned, high and low with a solemn atmosphere. The architecture compound is a great combination of national tradition, local style and contemporary spirit. The museum houses more than 1.7m pieces (sets) of artefacts spanning from more than one million years to the present. The diverse range of artefacts are of high quality and great historical values.

The Big Wild Goose Pagoda

Yanta Road, Xi'an, Shaanxi

The Big Wild Goose Pagoda is a monumental Buddhist pagoda, and sits inside the Da Ci'en Temple complex (meaning "mercy and kindness"). It was a magnificent royal temple in Chang 'an City during the Tang Dynasty, built in Taizong period to honor the Empress Zhangsun, also called “Pagoda in Ci'en Temple”. Today's Da Ci 'en Temple was built on the basis of the original temple "Xita Yuan" in the Ming Dynasty, and the existing halls are mostly built in the Qing Dynasty.

The City Wall

Xi’an City Wall is the best preserved city wall with the longest history throughout the world. Xi’an city wall is 13.74 kilometers long and it consists of a series of ancient military facilities including moat, drawbridge, gate tower, arrow tower, main tower, turret, watch tower, battlements and crenel.

Terra-Cotta Warriors Museum

North Qinling Road, Xi'an, Shaanxi

The terracotta Warriors Museum exhibits the 2000-years old terracotta figures which form the garrison force that protects Emperor Qinshihuang's mausoleum. The Terracotta Warriors and horses are all life-sized, and the warriors carry real bronze battle weapons. Orderly placed in rows and lines, these figures of warriors and horses make up a great underground army. People called this find "one of the world wonders" and "one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the twentieth century”.
