Rabat

Ouarzazate

The gateway to the Sahara Desert, Ouarzazate is also home to the Kasbah of Taourirt, a grand 17th-century structure where the Pasha of Marrakech once resided. Nearby, the UNESCO-protected Ksar of Aït Benhaddou is made up of historic kasbahs, merchants houses, and known as the site of Hollywood films including Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Gladiator (2000) and Alexander (2004).

Home to 4 million people, Casablanca is a cosmopolitan port city on the Atlantic Ocean. The Mosque of Hassan II – the largest in Africa – features impressive hand carved wood and stone, gilded ceilings and a 210 meter-tall minaret. Elsewhere in Morocco
