At the request of Napoleon III in 1861, Charles Garnier began building the Palais Garnier Opera in Paris which Haussmann was reshaping during the Second Empire. Inaugurated in 1875, the edifice captured contemporaries’ imagination with the architect’s opulent and eclectic scheme.

This square is a masterpiece of classical architecture from the end of the reign of Louis XIV and is a high place of Parisian luxury activities. It houses the Department of Justice and you will see the famous column of the same name.

The Eiffel Tower was built by Gustave Eiffel for 1889 World Exhibition. As French symbol worldwide and showcase of Paris, it impresses almost 7 million visitors a year with its 324 meters tall and remains one of the most visited monuments worldwide.

Originally a simple defensive fortress, the Louvre was for a long time one of the main residences of French kings. It became a museum in 1793, and now exhibits over 73,000 sq. m of Western artworks from the Middle Ages to 1848, as well as the art of the ancient civilizations that preceded and influenced them. Some 35,000 artworks are on display, the oldest of which date back over seven thousand years.
