Eryanping Trail

It overlooks the Chiayi-Tainan Plain, Renyitan Dam and Lantan Reservoirs. When the weather is nice, you can also see Dongshi and the outer edge of Budai Harbor in the distance. To the east are the Yushan mountain ranges in the distance. In the winter, there’s a chance you’ll see cloud falls and sea of clouds. The beautiful sunset attracts many photographers to make special trips here to take pictures.

Xiang Mountain

The most prominent landmark of Xiding, it reaches 1050 meters in height. Looked at from above it resembles a huge elephant with the head, trunk and back all clearly visible. According to older locals, in earlier times if a boom was heard coming from the mountain when the weather was good there was a good chance that the weather would change for the worse and, vice versa, if the boom was heard when the weather was bad it was likely to get better. Shizhuo Trails System

Shizhuo Trails are located near Shizhuo along the Alishan Highway. Alishan National Scenic Area Administration had extended the original trail and made improvements by adding 6 trails - Mist Trail (880 meters), Tea Trail (1,030 meters), Cloud Trail (700 meters), Sunset Trail (530 meters), Sakura Trail (990 meters) and Love Trail(1,040meters).

Fenqihu Historical Streets

The houses here are built along the slopes of the mountain. Small shops nestle closely along both sides of the sloped alley. Hearing the sales pitch from railway lunchbox shops from time to time, and the drifting smell of baked goods from the nearby bakery make visitors irresistible and hungry for a taste.
