The oldest Roman Catholic church in Georgia

Forsyth Park is a 30 acre park in historic district of Savannah with walking paths, a café, a children's play area, a Fragrant Garden for the blind, large fountain, tennis courts, basketball courts and areas for soccer and Frisbee and home field for the Savannah Shamrocks Rugby Club. The park was originally created in the 1840's on 10 acres of land donated by William Hodgson. In 1851, the park expanded and was named for Georgia Governor John Forsyth.

Bonaventure Cemetery sits on a scenic bluff along the Wilmington River, east of Savannah and is a popular tourist destination due the old tree-lined roadways, the many notable persons interred, the unique cemetery sculpture and architecture, and the folklore associated with the site and the people. Entrance is located at 330 Bonaventure Road.

Genteel as it may be, Savannah is also known as a party town—and City Market may be one big reason why. Hear lots of live music indoors and out, some by local street musicians and some by renowned concert bands. Better yet, if you’re thirsty, you can stroll from place to place with Savannah’s famous “to-go” cups. If you find yourself out until long after dinner’s digested, drop into an after-hours eatery.

Talk a walk along the cobblestone street next to the Savannah River and watch the big freighters and barges going up and down river. Check out the marketplace with local arts and crafts or dine at one of the restaurants.

The Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace is Savannah's first Registered National Historic Landmark. Enjoy a guided tour, tracing the arc of Juliette Gordon Low's life and the Movement (Girl Scouts) she founded that continues to build girls of courage, confidence, and character wo make the world a better place.

Known as the university for creative careers, the Savannah College of Art and Design has many campus buildings steps from the our hotel. SCAD operates museums, galleries, and exhibition spaces across its campuses, including the SCAD Museum of Art, located on the site of the former Central of Georgia Railway headquarters and SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film in Atlanta, Georgia.

First African Baptist Church (FABC), just steps from our hotel, was organized in 1773 under the leadership of Reverend George Leile. FABC is a National Historic Landmark and, as such, is registered with the National Register of Historic Places. The church is rich in history and offers tours to experience this historical site.

Ellis Square, located right behind our hotel, is one of the original squares and was historically the site of the City Market! This dynamic public space includes a visitor center, an interactive fountain, a variety of seating options, a statue of the well known Johnny Mercer and space for music and other performances. The Lucas Theatre is located in the heart of Savannah downtown historic district and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1921, it underwent a massive restoration during the 1990s. It reopened in 2000 as a premier venue for film, opera, concerts, theatricals and more.

Named for the Battle of Chippewa in the War of 1812, this square has many historic attractions. There is plenty to see and do around the square, from plays to beautiful architecture. Be sure to stop by one of the most beloved cafes, which is on Bull Street, just off the south end of the square.

This museum is located in the historic William Scarbrough House. They have a collection of model ships and maritime artifacts from the 18th and 19th centuries. The museum also features the largest private garden in the Historic District of Savannah. The breathtaking gardens take up a whole city block and are free to the public.

Home to the Savannah Bananas, Grayson Stadium has a long history of baseball being played In Savannah. Legends such as Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Hank Aaron, Ty Cobb, and Jackie Robinson all played on this field in their early days in the Minor Leagues during exhibitions. Some of the best shopping in the Southern states can be found on Broughton Street in historic downtown Savannah, Georgia. Though the street is just a few blocks long, it's packed with an eclectic mix of antique shops, thrift stores, upscale boutiques, and national retail chains.
