Silver Springs State Park

Silver Springs Theme Park is now Silver Springs State Park. The park is home of the world-famous glass bottom boats. You can now also rent canoes and kayaks to get up close and personal to the pristine natural springs in the area. Merged with the park is the Silver River Museum where displays of prehistoric artifacts found in the area are displayed. Park is open 7 days a week from 8:00AM until sundown. Fee to enter the park is $5 per person or $8 per car with up to 5 people onboard.

Four major natural springs of crystal clear water can be enjoyed at the recreation areas of Juniper Springs, Salt Springs, Alexander Springs and Silver Glen Springs Recreation Areas. Recreation activities are as diverse as the environment, from canoeing in wilderness waterways to swimming in crystal clear constant 72° springs. Visitors can enjoy year-round camping, picnicking, fishing, birding, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding and four-wheeling on designated Jeep and ATV trail systems.

Historic Ocala District

The Ocala Historic District developed as a residential neighborhood in Ocala between circa 1880 and 1930. The earliest developement, which began along Fort King Street, is dominated by Queen Anne Revival residence. The influence of the Florida boom in the early 1900's is exemplified by the revival style residences on large sitest. Bungalows and vernacular residences were integrated compatibly throughout the district. The extensive coverage of Live Oak trees canopy all the streets.

Silver River State Park

This park has more than 10 distinct natural communities, dozens of springs, and miles of beautiful trails.The park is home to a pioneer cracker village. Visitors can canoe down the crystal clear river, hike or bike along one of the nature trails. The picnic area features three pavilions with grills that may be rented for group outings and a playground for the youngsters. For overnight stays, the park has a full facility campground and 10 luxury cabins. You can also see a varitey of wildlife.

Juniper Springs

Going to Juniper Springs can begin as a day trip for a picnic outdoors. The water is sparkling clear, cool (72 degrees year-round) and a refreshing swim. The head spring area has swimming area, picnic facilities, and a first-rate nature trail that takes you along the pristine spring creek run. Canoe rentals are available for the 7-mile run which lasts approx. 4 hours.This park also offers a whole variety of different outdoor activities such as boating, hiking.

Salt Springs

The Salt Spring looks small, but it is an amazing 320 feet deep. Gray fox, gopher tortoises, alligators, and West Indian manatees call this park and its waters home. Birdwatchers can enjoy sighting raptors, wading birds, shore birds, and migratory songbirds. A recent addition to the state park system, Werner-Boyce now has a picnic pavilion, tables, informational kiosk, and a short hiking trail.

Alexander Springs

Alexander Springs Recreation Area is in the Ocala National Forest. There are plenty of activities to keep campers occupied, in addition to swimming in the natural springs, there is a 7 mile canoe run, SCUBA diving (for certified divers), beach front, natural hiking trails, and summer interpretive programs. Keep your eyes open for lots of the area's wildlife, including alligators, turtles, deer, raccoons, and black bear.

Rainbow Springs State Park

For large gatherings, private pavilions can be reserved. The Campground Entrance with a full-facility campground is about nine miles from the day use area.
