House O' Dreams

The House o’ Dreams is a large stone and board-and-batten cottage on top of Lavender Mountain. Plans were drawn by Harry Carlson of Cooledge and Carlson of Boston. It was built in 1922 by students and staff as a gift to Miss Berry on the 20th anniversary of the Schools.

Rome Tennis Center

The beautiful terraced design takes advantage of the natural topography and Rome’s natural beauty. The 3,846-square-foot clubhouse with meeting and event space overlooks the courts while also allowing for views of rolling hills, streams and wetlands. The 30 acre site houses 63 USTA standard courts to include six indoor courts, six NCAA regulation courts, three center courts for tournament and collegiate play, one exhibition court, and 8 permanent 36’ courts for 10&Under Tennis.

State Mutual Stadium

755 Braves Blvd NE, Rome, GA 30161

State Mutual Stadium construction began in the summer of 2002 and complete in the spring of 2003 just in time for the Rome Braves first home game on April 11th. The stadium can accommodate over 5,000 fans and contains 14 luxury suites, state-of-the-art audiovisual technology, a full-service restaurant, multiple concession areas, and group pavilion. The Rome Braves are a Minor League Class A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves and play in Rome’s State Mutual Stadium April through September.

Clock Tower

E. 2nd St., Rome, GA 30161

Climb the 107 steps to the top of the Clocktower for a great views of downtown Rome. A museum inside includes murals from Rome’s history and restored original clockworks. Public tours are offered seasonally; group tours are available by appointment. Call to schedule your free tour!

Down Town Heritage Trail

2 Government Plaza, Rome, Georgia 30161

This downtown system of over 13.5 miles of trails follows along all three rivers of Rome. Entrances are located at: State Mutual Stadium, Ridge Ferry Park, West Third Street / Barron Stadium, Town Green, Heritage Park, Riverview Park, Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Bridgepoint Plaza, and several other downtown locations. Maps are available in the Rome-Floyd Visitor Center.
