Hoover Metropolitan Stadium

Legion Field

Also affectionately known as the “The Old Gray Lady”, was completed in 1927 as a 21,000 seat venue. The stadium now seats 71,000. The stadium was named Legion Field in honor of the American Legion. Once famously known for playing host to the Iron Bowl, UAB Blazers and 1996 Olympic soccer matches, the stadium is the site for the Magic City Classic (the largest HBCU classic in the country), local high school games, music festivals and more.

UAB-Bartow Arena

The arena features a spacious 18,000-square feet of floor space with the lower-level seats retracted (enough room for three full basketball or volleyball courts). There is a permanent floor and a portable hardwood floor for basketball. There are a total of 8,500 seats for basketball (6,500 permanent, 2,000 retractable) and a maximum capacity of 9,000.

Discovery Museum and McWane Center

The McWane Science Center (formerly known as the McWane Center) is a science museum and research archive located in downtown Birmingham. The state-of-the-art hands-on science center, aquarium, and 250-seat IMAX Dome Theater is housed in the historic and refurbished Loveman's department store building.
