Santa Anita Park was opened on December 25, 1934 and is the oldest racetrack in Southern California. It offers some of the prominent racing events in the United States during the autumn and in winter. The track is home to numerous prestigious races including both the Santa Anita Derby and the Santa Anita Handicap.

The stadium is the proud home of the Tournament of Roses Football Game, UCLA Bruin Football, Fourth of July celebrations, concerts, religious services, filmings and the World's Largest Flea Market (R.G. Canning).

The new museum opened in 2004, featuring world-class exhibitry and 2.2 acres of outdoor learning environments designed to encourage children to discover the excitement of learning while engaging in the creativity of play. Children can unleash an earthquake, feed giant bugs, craft art through nature and climb raindrops 40 feet into the air.

The Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden, 127 acres, is an arboretum, botanical garden, and historical site nestled into hills near the San Gabriel Mountains. It is open daily during business hours, for a fee. The Arboretum is located across the street from the Santa Anita Park, the horse racetrack, and the shopping mall Santa Anita Fashion Park, now known as Westfield Santa Anita
