National Forest Covered Bridge Scenic Byway

This route follows State Route 26 from Marietta, OH to Woodsfield, OH. For most of its length, it parallels the Little Muskingum River. The scenic byway traverses some of Ohio's most beautiful countryside and many choose to stop along its route.

Hollister Parry House Museum

Recreation includes the museum, dairy museum, and a reconstructed one-room stone schoolhouse. The house was built in the 800's and furnished in turn of the century style. The Museum contains priceless heirlooms that portray life in Monroe County during the 1800's and early 1900's.

Piatt Park

119 acres with recreation includes hiking through a fantastic cave/gorge area, camping, picnic shelter/house, playground and a handicapped shower house/restroom. The hiking trails that lead to the rock shelter reward travelers with a very special scenic view into a remarkable natural gorge. The uniqueness of this natural setting will provide hikers with memories that will not soon be forgotten.

Kiedaisch Point Park

Recreation includes an overlook of the Ohio River and hiking trails. A commanding view of New Martinsville, WV can be appreciated from this point. A feeling of being air born is easily experienced as approximately seven miles of the Ohio River unfolds almost 500 feet below the view point's crest. Hiking trails offer visitors a glimpse of the rugged terrain that exists in the River Valley.

Wayne National Forest

The Wayne National Forest is located in the south-eastern part of Ohio. It is the only national forest in the state of Ohio. It is a patchwork of public land that covers over a quarter million acres of Appalachian foothills.

Mason-Dixon Line

The Mason-Dixon line marker is near New Martinsville, WV in Wetzel County. It was made famous as the line between free and slave states before the war between the states.
