A huge palace that is considered the main work of courtly Munich. Famous are the gallery of beauties, including the king's mistress Lola Montez, the room where Ludwig II was born and the world-famous Nymphenburg porcelain collection. You should definitely not miss the idyllic park with squirrels, deers and owls, with canals, bridges, lakes, enchanted streams and lots of nature. Nymphenburg offers both - very close by.

The Gothic cathedral and parish church "To Our Lady" from the 15th century is and remains the unmistakable landmark of the city. But not everyone knows that the Frauenkirche is the burial place of emperors and, is said, that even the devil have come and gone here. The brick building, which is over 500 years old, is the seat of the Archbishop of Munich and Freising. One of the two almost 100 meter high towers is accessible and offers a spectacular view of the city.

St. Peter, the Peterskirche behind Marienplatz, is the oldest parish church in Munich.
