Frankfurt’s unique event and concert hall is the emotional event backdrop under 29-metres high dome and has played host to international stars as diverse as David Guetta and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, to artists, magicians and sports stars and to exhibitions and congresses by high-profile companies.

A prominent attraction is Frankfurt’s Museum Riverbank, one of the most important locations for museums in Germany and all of Europe. Renowned exhibition centres such as the Städel Museum, the German Architecture Museum, the German Film Museum, or the Jewish Museum can be found along the bank of the Main River. And every year many museums invite people to two special cultural events: the “night of museums” and the Museum Riverbank festival.

Whatever customers are looking for, they will most likely find it on Frankfurt’s most popular shopping mile, the “Zeil”. This is not only where the most well-known department store chains are to be found, but also where a host of specialised shops offer an extensive range of goods. No wonder then that the “Zeil” is one of the streets with the highest turnover in Europe. Don't miss the spectacularly designed shopping centre "My Zeil" which opened on 26th February 2009, with a lot of new shops.

The Palmengarten is a trust established by the citizens of Frankfurt in 1868. On 50 acres, the gardens display numerous beautiful and interesting plants throughout the year. In addition, the Palmengarten offers a variety of recreational activities including guided tours, summer concerts, evening festivals etc. The Palmengarten is worth a visit at any time of the year. In the course of the stock exchange boom, the first stock exchange bell rang at the Frankfurt am Main stock exchange in 1585. Since then, Frankfurt has developed into a powerful financial center with a large number of major banks of both domestic and foreign origin. This is why Frankfurt is also jokingly referred to as “Mainhattan”, the Manhattan on the Main. Although there are seven other stock exchanges in Germany, Frankfurt ranks first in terms of importance and turnover.

Although the cathedral never served as an episcopal church, it was the venerable site of the coronation of Roman emperors and is an important historical landmark of the city. Our insider tip: the cathedral's viewing terrace. The ascent of 318 steps to the platform at a height of 66 metres is a bit of a challenge, but well worth the effort. The Goethe-House is among the most important memorial places dedicated to a German poet. It impressively documents the domestic surroundings in which the Goethe family lived. Johann Wolfgang Goethe spent his childhood and youth here and wrote his first important works here, “Götz von Berlichingen”, “The Sorrows of Young Werther” and the start to “Faust”.

For more than 6 centuries, Frankfurt’s destiny has been directed from the patrician houses on the Römerberg. Like most of her predecessors, the municipal leader lives above the Schwanenhalle, with a beautiful view of St. Paul’s Church. In 1405, the city council purchased the buildings at the Römer from the merchant Kunz for “800 guldens of good Frankfurt currency in cash”. Over the years, nine buildings and several inner courtyards have been added to form the present-day Römer complex.

Since it was reopened on August 28, 1981, the Alte Oper has been an integral part of Frankfurt's cultural life. The concert hall has also become a firm favourite on the international music scene. Evening after evening the mahogany panelled Grosser Saal with 2450 seats, famed for its excellent acoustics, and the Mozart Saal with 720 seats host a broad spectrum of events featuring international ensembles and soloists.

The Waldstadion, now known as Deutsche Bank Park since July 1, 2020, was previously named Commerzbank Arena. Located in Frankfurt am Main's city forest in the Sachsenhausen district, it opened in 1925 and underwent significant modernization for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Renovated as a pure soccer stadium, it boasts a capacity of 58,000 spectators, making it the seventh largest in Germany.

Frankfurt-Egelsbach Airport (EDFE) is probably one of the most important airports for private aviation in Germany. Due to its proximity to Frankfurt and Frankfurt Airport, it is a frequent destination for business trips. However, recreational pilots from Frankfurt also make use of the local flying school and the numerous opportunities to hire aircraft. Today, pilots have access to a 1400m asphalt runway and numerous parking facilities.
