Madison Regatta

The first major regatta to be run in Madison occurred in 1929 under the auspices of the Ohio Valley Motorboat Racing Association of Cincinnati. It was also the first Madison race to be attended by a modern Unlimitied hydroplance, the MY DARLING, which posted a winning average speed of 76,000 miles per hour with owner Andy Marcy from Springfield, Illinois, at the wheel. The Madison Regatta is held each year the first week-end in July.
