The Texas Prison Museum offers a glimpse into life as an offender in Texas. The old electric chair, Ole Sparky is also on display. Offender made weapons, and memorabilia on display. There are also inmate made gift items, books, and apparel as well to be purchased. Ask former Warden Jim Willett to tell some tales if he's there!

Oakwood cemetary is home to the grave of General Sam Houston and some confederate soldiers and many beautiful tombstones and statues. There are also several ghost tours that tour this place as well. Full of history!

Walker County Fairgrounds is home to the Annual Walker County Fair and Rodeo, held in late March each year. Kiddos will enter their prized animals for money and scholarships, girls will enter for a chance to be Queen, and folks will barbecue til the sun goes down!
