The South Tar River Greenway begins at the Town Common and winds its way adjacent to the Tar River through the university neighborhood then turns toward Green Springs Park. There it turns into the Green Mill Run Greenway and follows the Green Mill Run Creek through Elm Street Park to College Hill on the East Carolina University campus

A Time for Science-Greenville Center is a local, nationally-recognized science and technology learning center and museum that collaborates with local and regional universities, colleges, school systems, and industry partners to provide a variety of hands-on exhibits, science camps, science cafes, science fairs, a STEAM collaborative, and e-mentoring programs to ignite kids interest and engage in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and arts (STEAM) in educational and fun ways!
