The State Capitol is a National Historic Landmark(1888). The Capitol is located at 1100 Congress Ave. It is the tallest of all state capitals (311 feet). It has been the home of all Texas governors since 1856. It is the fourth oldest mansion still in use as a governor's residence.

Neal Kocurek Memorial Convention Center. This is a multipurpose convention center. It is also home of the Texas Rollergirls. The convention center has 5 exhibit halls, 54 meeting rooms and 2 ballrooms. One of the ballrooms is the largest in Texas.

Congress Ave Bridge spans Town Lake in downtown Austin. Homeof the largest urban bat colony in N. America. The colony is estimated at 1.5 million Mexican Free Tail Bats. Each night mid-March to November, the bats emerge from under the bridge at dusk to blanket the sky, as they head out to forge for food. This event has become the most spectacular & unusual tourist attaction in Texas.
