Henry Vilas Zoo is a 28-acre public zoo in Madison, Wisconsin, United States that is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Owned by the city of Madison, the zoo charges no admission or parking fees.

The Yahara River flows through the Village of DeForest and the Town of Windsor southwardly into Lake Mendota in Madison. The Yahara spans 45 miles (70 km) in total length and is the largest tributary to Lake Mendota. The river area offers excellent fishing and canoeing opportunities along with miles of nature and biking trails.

Overture Center for the Arts is a performing arts center and art gallery in Madison. The center opened on September 19, 2004, replacing the former Civic Center. In addition to several theaters, the center also houses the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art.

Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center opened its doors after nearly 60 years of debate on July 18, 1997. It was first designed by Wisconsin native and internationally-renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1938 as a cultural, governmental and recreational building. Wright reworked the design several times between 1938 and 1958 before signing off on the final plans seven weeks before his death in 1959.
