The Mississippi University for Women was the very first public college for women in the United States and was founded in 1884. A co-ed college since 1982, the university offers degrees with a strong focus on liberal arts, nursing, and education. Lovingly nicknamed "The W," the school has a robust athletics program, so there's almost always an exciting sports match to watch. About 15 minutes from our hotel in Columbus, MS, this base is a major player in the U.S. Air Force. Since 1941, it’s been a key part of military aviation, training nearly a third of all U.S. Air Force pilots every year. Home to the 14th Flying Training Wing, the base uses aircraft like the T-6 Texan II, T-1 Jayhawk, and T-38 Talon to get pilots ready for their careers. Whether you're headed to the base for a sponsored visit or are attending an Air Force event, you'll appreciate how close we are!

With a location between Columbus, Starkville, and Westpoint—hence the name, Golden Triangle—the airport offers daily flights connecting our corner of Mississippi with the rest of the South. With free parking, quick check-in, and speedy security lines, there's never a bad day when you're flying through GTR.

Columbus Place, formerly known as Leigh Mall, is a shopping center less than a mile from our hotel in Columbus. Established as an indoor mall in 1973 as Leigh Mall, the shopping center was acquired by Hull Property Group in 2019. Since then, the mall has undergone major renovations in a transition to a more modern shopping center. You can now shop at stores like Hobby Lobby, Five Below, Dollar Tree, Bealls, and Cato right near our hotel.
