Nestled in the New River Valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Radford, Va., Radford University is student-centered and focused on providing outstanding academic programs for its more than 9,000 students. The Appalachian Trail was the country’s first national scenic trail, designated as such by the federal government in 1968. The AT runs from Mount Katahdin in ME and terminates at Springer Mountain in GA. It is an amazing 2,178 miles and along its length it passes through a number of states including: ME, NH, VT, CT, MA, NY and NJ, PA, MD, WV, TN, VA, NC, and finally, GA. No wonder so many AT veterans claim that it’s the best way to see the Eastern US. You will love the waterfalls along the way!

Take A Walk On The Wild Side at the Natural Bridge Zoo for an excursion into the Extraordinary. You’re about to bond with some of the largest, the smallest, and the most amazing zoo animals located at the Wildest Place on Earth, The Natural Bridge Zoo. You’ll encounter a variety of exhibits that offer up close encounters with many friendly zoo animals. More than 100 babies are born each year at the Natural Bridge Zoo.

The Blue Ridge Parkway, America's Favorite Scenic Drive, is a 469 mile scenic parkway that follows closely the highest ridges between the Shenandoah and the Great Smokey Mountains National Parks, attaining altitudes of more that 6,000 feet. It is designed especially for leisurely enjoyment of the scenic and cultural wonders along the way - a high road of adventure, intended for gypsy-like travel on the ride awhile, stop-awhile basis.

Harkrader Sports Comples is located behind the Christiansburg Middle School and has 3 lighted multi-purpose fields, a press box, concessions area, and restrooms. There is also a walking path, tennis and basketball courts, picnic tables, and 2 playground areas. Harkrader Sports Complex is heavily used from spring to fall and is often the host site for local baseball tournaments.

The vision of the Aquatic Center is to provide a state of the art aquatic facility that enhances the health, fitness, recreational, and competitive needs throughout our region. Our mission is to operate a public aquatic facility to increase health, water safety, and the aquatic education of our citizens and aquatic organizations.

Would you believe a dog was the first one in the hole at the top of the hill... followed by several inquisitive farm boys? That was in 1920. And in 1923, Dixie Caverns was open to the public. There have been many changes over the years in lighting and passageways, but the beauty of this cavern has entertained thousands from then until now. The star attraction is a bell-shaped flow stone formation, popularly known as the 'Wedding Bell'. Dixie Caverns is open for tours 363 days a year.
