The Amelia Earhart Birthplace is a historic building and museum that was the birthplace of aviator Amelia Earhart. This beautiful 140 year old home is nestled in the heart of Atchison and overlooks the Missouri River.

Evan C Cray Historical Home Museum

Recently renovated and updated, this 25 room mansion is a glorious example of the opulence of the Victorian Era. Built in 1882, it is distinguished by a three-story castle like tower. Ornate fireplaces, carved woodwork and original chandeliers mix with Victorian furnishings. The carriage house features a gift store and a small theater in which a film on the architecture of Atchison can by viewed.Admission is $3 per person.

Atchison County Historical Museum and CVB

Santa Fe Depot, 200 S 10th St, Atchison, KS 66002

Both the city of Atchison and Atchison County, KS are named after United States Senator and legendary "President for a Day" David Rice Atchison. Dedicated to telling the story of Atchison County the museum features exhibits on the Lewis and Clark, Amelia Earhart, Jesse Stone, the Railroad History of Atchison County, the David Rice Atchison World's Small "unofficail" Presidential Library and a Military collection with over 200 weapons spanning the Revolutionary War, Civil War and both World Wars.
