The Vicksburg Military Park protects 1,728 acres of battleground at what was referred to as “the key” to winning the civil war. The site offers driving tours to view its 1400 monuments and memorials as well as walking and biking trails.
Biedenharn Coca-Cola Museum
Located in the Charming Down-Town district of Vicksburg is a step back in time at the place where Coca-Cola was first bottled in 1894. The museum lets guests experience the bottling-process and memorabilia from the history of the location. There is a gift shop, candy store, and you can even experience the best Coke-float of your life!
Old Courthouse Museum
The Vicksburg Courthouse has been a focal point of Vicksburg history since construction was completed in 1858. The Courthouse Museum displays memorabilia from the rich history of Vicksburg including a plethora of Civil War items.
Jesse Brent Lower Mississippi Museum
Learn the science and history of how the Mississippi River affected life and culture in this region of the South. There are multiple interactive displays and an aquarium to show the local wildlife. There is a flood model that shows how seemingly miniscule factors can affect the river and a tug boat that can be toured as well! This site is interactive and educational and is a great experience for the whole family.
