I stayed here during the construction period. I was not notified that the property was undergoing renovations ahead of time. It made for a less restful stay. The normal amenities like fitness center and complimentary breakfast were not available, these are the two main reasons why I even stay at the Holiday Inn properties. Advance notice of the property situation would have been greatly appreciated and I could have planned accordingly but sadly was not given any.

Our stay was alright, but it didn't quite live up to our experiences at other Holiday Inns. This location could definitely benefit from remodeling its rooms and elevators. Unfortunately, the restaurant, room service, and bar were unavailable during our stay, which was disappointing. We also had to physically go downstairs to get extra towels and bath supplies for our room since despite calling, no one responded for 20 minutes. That was quite frustrating for us. Oh and to add the faucets in the room and bathroom were not working correctly.

Normally these things wouldn't bother me that much, however, I was travelling with my family on vacation. The hotel was under construction. No visible signs at night to locate where to check in. This was not disclosed at booking that the hotel was under construction. There was no wifi in our room. Early in the morning, the noise was already audible. This did not make for a good stay with the family.

We booked 2 rooms with this hotel for a family vacation. The IHG website didn’t show the hotel was under construction at the time of booking. Half the hotel was blocked off and we could hear construction noises and the crew walking around all day. Rooms were really run down with many issues like the toilets not flushing, wallpaper peeling and a strange odor in beds. The restaurant and the breakfast were closed too. IHG should not even charge half the normal rate for this abysmal experience. I contacted management about some compensation but they didn’t even get back to me.

This is my 3rd time staying here. Quality has gone done from what I remembered. Hallways seems really dirty. Wall paper peeling. Was not notified of construction of front lobby so was lost for a bit. Booked a double queen but it was a queen and full. Didn’t wanna mention because I was all settled and in bed already when I noticed. Room was big. Shower pressure had problems since bottom spout was leaking water while switched over

No, I do not recommend this property.
So very disappointing and extremely different from any other of the HIE experiences in decades of traveling.
First, we were not informed the property was under remodeling... construction when the reservations were made. The check in person was a bit snarky...... "well its in the app".... Which may be true, but the caliber of HIE should assure that this information is made clear from every place reservations are made. I made our reservation via the HIE website.
The check in desk was in a hall way, with no markings or signage on entrance to the hotel. The mail lobby was masked over for exterior painting.
Next, there was NO breakfast service, nor a substitute alternative at a nearby restaurant. Candidly, the crisp, clean rooms, safety of location/access and the breakfast being included in the price are the value driven qualities that result in our staying in HIE properties.
Rather than relief after a 500 mile drive, the anxiety over the Santa Maria Holiday Inn experience were most disappointing and inconsistent with previous stays at other properties.
Respectfully requesting a credit for a nights stay (points) and the $18.37 for a less than satisfying nearby fast food breakfast.

I wanted to thank you for taking the time and filling out the Guest Satisfaction Survey. I take these surveys very seriously as I read every one of them. I believe that these surveys allow us the opportunity to focus on the areas where we can improve.
I was very concerned to see that you did not enjoy your overall experience at the Holiday Inn – Santa Maria. To me, it means that we did not deliver on providing you with an experience customary to the Holiday Inn’s brand.
Having a room with the types of issues you mentioned is a huge inconvenience, and I would feel the exact same way. Please know that comments like yours are not falling on deaf ears. Remodel has already begun, that will change everything about this hotel, with our first set of room scheduled to be completed by the end of May.
