It has a broad collection of foreign art from Antiquity to the present day. In addition to the Egyptian Greek and Roman collections, the Italian collection gives a comprehensive overview of Italian schools of painting from the 13th to the 18th century.

The collection of 10.000 art objects sited in the Buda Castle Palace covers the period from the foundation of the state to the present day. Permanent exhibitions: Medieval and Renessaince lapidarium, Gothic wood carvings, 20th century paintings.

The museum (founded in 1802) was based on the numismatic, book and document collection of Count Széchényi. Permanent exhibition: History of Hungary from the foundation of the state until the present days.

The museum, built in fitting style and attached to the uniquely beautiful Dohány Street Synagogue, has an unpararell collection of Judaica. Permanent exhibition: Devitional objects for Jewish celebration, History of the Hungarian Holocaust.

The statue of Bishop Gellért, who died a martyr in the 11th century, stands opposite to Elisabeth Bridge on the south side of Gellért Hill.

The most spectacular squarein the capital, sited at the entrance to the City Park. The tomb ofthe unknown soldier is positioned in front ofthe monument.
