Benedictine Abbey

The Benedictine Abbey, generally named Badia di Cava, named like that because was located under a cave, was founded on year from a Benedictine hermit named Saint Alfeiro. It’s located in the beautiful Cava de’ Tirreni valley, very close to Amalfi Coast and it’s the most visited site of the city. In it’s premises it contains many pieces of art, like 1.500 scrolls, rare documents of Longobardi origin, dated 792 a.c., canvas of Caravaggio school and several archeological finds.
