this is not only the oldest monument in Calais, but this is also where Charles de Gaulle married a young Calaisian woman called Yvonne Vendroux in 1921. Its Construction began in the XIII th century by Flemish masons and architects but was still being constructed in the XIV th century during the English occupation. English architects took then over giving it an interesting Flemish/Gothic look.
