Old Town and Lake

The Lake Zurich is a beautiful natural border to the city, providing parks, bars, restaurants and lots of space for relaxation. Many baths invite for swimming in the summer, when the water temperature is appr. 20 degrees. The old town is situated on both sides of the river Limmat with medieval, charming houses, elegant boutiques and a wide range of restaurants. The most important sights to visit are the church Fraumünster (windows by Chagall and Giacometti) and the church Grossmünster.

Bahnhofstrasse

The Bahnhofstrasse is the most popular shopping street (without car traffic) on the left side of the river Limmat in Zurich. Connecting the main railway station with the Lake of Zurich, this is a very attractive street with charming restaurants, elegant fashion boutiques (e.g. Chanel), jewelry- and watch shops and representative buildings of the most important banks. During the time before Christmas, enjoy the festive illumination! Listen to the several street concerts in the summer months!

Central Railway Station

The impressive building of the central railway station of Zurich is situated close to the river Limmat in the city centre. Besides the railway service, restaurants and shops (ShopVille) are at the travelers disposal on three floors. Before Christmas, there is a Christmas market in the station concourse with a giant Christmas tree, decorated with Swarovski crystals.

Hallenstadium Venue Hall

Chagall Windows at Fraumunster Church
