Pack wisely and stay updated - consider these useful tips as you prepare.
Pack light clothing and
comfortable shoes.
Consider an Ihram belt for your
valuables, and a light bag for carrying
footwear inside the Masjid.
If you’re taking any
prescription medicines, bring a
doctor’s letter for authorization.
Pack some dried fruits or
small nutritious snacks for
sustenance.
A small hand towel is useful
after Wudu - this can be carried
in your Masjid bag.

To ensure a positive experience, follow these guidelines.
Islamic dress codes must be
followed prior to Ihram and
after, modest clothing should
be observed.
Follow the rules and restrictions
of Ihram. Consult with a Faqih if
in doubt.
Single women are no longer required
to travel with a mahram or tour group.
They are allowed to perform Umrah by themselves.

For the elderly or infirm, Tawaf can
be done with a wheelchair on the
first level of Masjid Al Haram.
On the second level mobility scooters
can be booked.
For a quieter place to pray for
women, go to the 2nd floor of
the Masjid Haram.
In hot weather, you may wish to
pray Jumu’ah in the New Haram
Extension- the Ground level and
the upper level of Haram.
Sensitive to heat? Consider
doing your Tawaf after Isha. The
Masjid Haram will be cooler.
Visit Ziyarat sites between sunrise
and Dhuhr prayer, for easier access.

Be sure to only consume water that’s
safe for drinking. Choose either
Zamzam water or labeled, bottled
drinking water only.
When cutting or shaving hair after
Umrah, it’s preferably to use your
hotel hair salon whenever possible.
