The Museum of Northwest Colorado began as the Moffat County Museum in 1964. In 1991 it opened at its new location at 590 Yampa Avenue in the former Colorado State Armory. A Cowboy Gunfighter Collection is currently housed within the museum. "Frontier" accurately reflects our ranching, farming and homesteading background plus the fact that some of the "Wild Bunch's" stomping grounds are located in Moffat County. Craig is located approximately 90 miles north of I-70 and 100 miles south of I-80.

The Wyman Museum was founded by Lou Wyman. The dream started in 1949 in Elk Springs, Colorado. While Lou was filling up a water barrel for his sheep herders, he noticed an abandoned 1932 Lincoln. He paid $15.00 for it and has been collecting ever since.The museum opened in August of 2006. The Wyman family has gathered an absolutely unique collection from throughout the west and beyond, giving museum guests an experience spanning one hundred years of American life, ingenuity and advancement.

On the Yampa River south of Craig. Offers hiking, fishing, baseball/softball diamonds, BMX track, archery range, rugby, soccer fields, picnic and restroom facilities as well as a canoe/raft launch area.

In the heart of the northwest Colorado lies the Yampa Valley Golf Course. The oldest and most affordable 18 hole facility in the Yampa Valley. First opened in 1968, the Yampa Valley Golf Course lies beside the lazy Yampa River and plays through and over 240 acres of cottonwoods, wetlands, native grasses and sage. A golf course where everyone is welcome, treated like family and it wont bust your golf budget. Just a short 50-minute drive from downtown Steamboat Springs.

Moffat County Parks & Rec Ice Arena. Open October - March. Open Skating is offered 7 days per week. Monday - Thursday 3 to 4:30 PM Friday, Saturday, Sunday 1:00 to 2:30 and 2:45 to 4:15. For additional open skating times please call the ice arena.

Woodbury Park offers Baseball and Soccer Fields. Playground equipment and restroom facilites are also available.

Discover Dinosaur as you explore the craggy hills, discover fragments of a long ago world where the largest land creatures of all time once roamed and died. Fossils can be seen by taking a shuttle from the Temporary Visitor Center to the traihead for a ½-mile hike along the Fossil Discovery Trail. You can also view rock art and captivating scenery, explore homestead sites, and go whitewater rafting. Construction of the new Quarry Visitor Center and Exhibit Hall is underway.

Craig City Park has dozens of wood sculptures, carved using only chainsaws during the city's annual Whittle the Wood Rendezvous, a festival where carvers from around the nation compete to win the crowd's approval for their creation. Past winners remain on display in the park. The Western Slope's only wave pool, which is located in a complex which also boasts a lap and diving pool. Lighted tennis courts. Two playgrounds, including a toddler play area Sand volleyball and paved basketball courts

Two different roads to watch the wild horses and view scenic Moffat county . Road is gravel and not maintained year round so caution is advised during "mud season".
